Patch & Fill - QUALITY EXTERIOR FILLER FOR BRICKS – CONCRETE –MORTAR - RENDER

Patch & Fill is a cementitious polymer modified mortar containing Silica Fume for use as a finishing and protective top coat for concrete and concrete repair patches.

Uses

Thin layer patching for vertical, horizontal or overhead applications. Ideal for repairing masonry surfaces prior to painting. Restores the appearance of honeycombed or surface impaired concrete caused by faulty formwork. Provides a continuous dense and smooth surface that will allow protective and architectural coatings to be applied free of pin holes and defects. As a thin skin protective seal coat to concrete where the reinforcement is susceptible to corrosion. As a repair or reproofing mortar for concrete joint edges, corner fillets etc.

Advantages

  • One component system requires only the addition of water.
  • Application by trowel or spray.
  • Adjustable consistency to suit application.
  • High mechanical strengths.
  • Excellent bonding to substrate.
  • Frost resistant.
  • Protective barrier against reinforcement corrosion.
  • Non toxic

Surface Preparation

All surfaces must be clean, sound and free from dust ,ice ,oils ,grease or other surface contaminants such as curing membranes and form releasing agents etc.

The strength of the concrete or mortar must be at least 20 Mpa. The prepared substrate should be thoroughly soaked with clean water until uniformly saturated, leaving no standing water. To achieve a higher bond strength or for porous substrates apply Acrylbond immediately prior to application. Do not allow the Acrylbond to dry prior to the application.

Mixing

Patch & Fill should be mechanically mixed in a forced action mixer or a clean drum using a drill and spiral mixer at a speed of approximately 200rpm. Mixing time should be at least 3 minutes or until a smooth consistency of colour and texture is achieved.

Application

Patch & fill must be applied to a pre-dampened substrate. Apply by trowel spatula or by air driven spray equipment. Best results are obtained when the substrate and ambient temperatures are falling. After application, when the mortar has stiffened but not dried, various methods may be used to obtain the required surface finish. The addition of water to the surface to obtain the desired finish is not recommended as this may cause colour variations and surface cracking.

Cleaning

Remove Patch & Fill from tools and equipment with water. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically
